BGC to hire 25 in spot forex

Nigel Renton, managing director of FX at Cantor in London, who will be responsible for the asset class at the new operation, said BGC aims to hire 25 spot brokers globally by the end of the year.

Cantor's move to set up voice broker BGC, which was announced with much publicity last month (FX Week, August 23) followed years of contraction in the voice-brokered market. Rivals have pointed out with glee that it was Cantor's chief executive Howard Lutnick who declared at the height of the internet
