MIDAM Offers Currency Futures At Night Threat To CME? Where Are The Traders?


The MidAmerica Commodity Exchange started trading two currency futures contracts during the Chicago Board of Trade's (CBOT) evening session Thursday, but despite the window of opportunity opened by the delay of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange's (CME) Globex system, few expect that the contracts will find much of an audience.

Analysts say that the CME's Exchange for Physical (EFP) market is liquid enough to fulfil the market's need for a currency futures vehicle and that the MidAm contracts
