The CME reports total combined currency futures volume for February was 1,840,876 contracts, up 6 per cent from the 1,740,670 contracts reported for February 1996. Average daily volume was 96,888 contracts, compared to 87,034 contracts reported a year ago. Month-end open interest stood at 407,074 positions, up 26 per cent from 323,141 positions outstanding for February 1996. Total currency options volume for February is reported as 606,084 contracts, down 8 per cent from 660,079 contracts
