Merrill Lynch hires Slater to head N.Y. FX

Merrill Lynch Foreign Exchange in New York ended its year-long search last week by tapping Mark Slater to head its foreign exchange trading operation. Slater will oversee a 20-person trading unit that is active in spot, forward and proprietary foreign exchange trading.
