Finnish Markka Returns To Obscurity After Devaluation Sparks Hectic Trade

Dealers in the Finnish markka say the market in the currency calmed this week after a hectic day's trading November 15 when the Finnish government announced a devaluation. The currency settled around the midpoint of the new trading range, say traders at three major Scandinavian banks, and spreads widened in the interbank market over what they had been prior to the devaluation.

But liquidity and volume in the currency are likely to suffer for a long time to come in the wake of this move, some say
