Royal Bank Of Scotland Expands FX Staff As Edinburgh Goes On Stream

Royal Bank of Scotland is signalling its intention to become a major player in foreign exchange with a continuing round of new hires, sources say.

Hard on the heels of the formal opening of its new £2.5 million dealing room in Edinburgh on September 17, is the recruitment of John Chapman, former chief dealer at Standard Chartered Bank in London, as head of spot. He joins Royal Bank this week.

"In the past 18 months we have recruited more than 50 people from outside for our treasury operations
