Paribas Boosts Forex Gains In 1991 Despite Disastrous Year In Lending

Despite a poor year in its overall results, Banque Paribas had a good year in forex in 1991, says Michel Peretie, the bank's head of foreign exchange and short term instruments. The bank doesn't break out its foreign exchange trading revenue in its preliminary results--full results will not be released until March 26. Peretie, however, says that forex gains rose some 20 percent in 1991 over 1990.
