Chicago Exchanges, Reuters Set For January Tests, Final Pact Soon?

The Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME), the Chicago Board of Trade (CBT) and Reuters Holdings PLC plan to begin client-site tests of Globex January 29, followed by an expanded test February 20, a CME spokesman confirms. Successful tests could pave the way for a final legally binding agreement within the next six weeks, a source close to the project notes. The system is expected to be launched within six months of the contract signing, these sources say.

The new schedule suggests a slight delay
