Knight-Ridder Signs Prebon For Derivatives Data Push

Knight-Ridder will officially launch its new foreign exchange and derivatives data service from money broker Prebon Yamane in London on November 8. The deal is the latest move in Knight-Ridders' bid to become the forex market's natural backup to Reuters--competing head-to-head with Telerate for this prize.

Telerate and Reuters have already signed exclusive data distribution deals with some of the market's larger brokers. By signing Prebon Yamane, Knight-Ridder is trying to catch up, say market
