CME's Melamed Outlines Plans For Future Of Chicago Exchange

Leo Melamed, chairman emeritus of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, was recently appointed permanent advisor to both the Merc's board of directors and its executive committee. The first order of business, he says, is to establish the priorities of the Merc, which includes the advancement of Globex, creation of new markets and improving the currency and Eurodollar sectors, in order to keep the exchange an active competitor.
