NEW YORK--Market opinions vary on the outlook for end-of-year bonuses in the US FX market.

Although generally it has been a difficult year for banks, many FX divisions have posted strong earnings due to high volatility in the currency markets.

These conflicting factors mean the bonus outlook is hard to gauge, sources say.
