Beales Plans To Leave SocGen London As Global Reorganisation Takes Shape

Société Générale's London treasurer, Mike Beales, will leave the bank in April in what he says is "an amicable parting of the ways" after differences over methods of implementing the bank's new global product- line strategy (FX Week, May 9). After the transition period, he will hand over the job to marketing and derivatives chief Jean-Pierre Bernard, Beales says.

Bernard, aged 34, came to London 18 months ago from the bank's Madrid office, where he was treasurer, to take over the London
