Standard Chartered shows its strength in emerging markets

BEST BANKS SURVEY 2001 -- EMERGING MARKETS

Emerging markets specialist Standard Chartered this year scooped two awards for emerging markets foreign exchange -- for emerging European currencies, and for emerging African and Middle Eastern currencies -- backing up its claim to be the world’s leading emerging markets bank.

"Our mission in the UK is to facilitate the business of our clients that are based in emerging markets, so we have to be very active in these countries," Jean-Michel D’Oultrement, head of global markets, UK and Europe
