Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi (BoT-Mitsubishi) is looking to expand its derivatives and risk management business in South East Asia, and plans to establish a derivatives and structured products sales and trading team in the bank's Singapore branch by year-end, bank officials say.

The group will initially focus on sales and trading of Association of South East Asian Nations (Asean) currency derivatives, such as options on the Thai baht and Indonesian rupiah. The group will also work with Asean
