In a surprise move, Gil Leiendecker, managing director and head of global foreign exchange at First Boston Corp. left the firm earlier this week, sources there confirm. Leiendecker, who was brought on board early last year, was asked to remain with the firm last November (FX Week, November 23), even after mentors William Voute, Ronald Stuart and Craig Coats resigned. Sources at First Boston declined to comment on Leiendecker's future career plans.
