Cost fears over Reuters restructuring

LONDON -- Reuters’ H1 results -- to be announced on Tuesday (July 23) -- are likely to see a year-on-year downturn, analysts said. Chief among the information vendor’s worries will be the cost of its recent restructuring (FX Week, July 1).

Andrew Gordon-Brown, media analyst at JP Morgan Chase in London, said: "The biggest impact on Reuters’ results for the first half is the big re-structuring and transformation costs. These could lead to a small loss at a normalised profit before tax level."
