Chicago Mercantile Exchange reports currency futures volume was 1,581,667 contracts traded in April, down from 1,828,256 contracts a year ago. Average daily volume was 71,894 contracts and open interest stood at 473,610 positions at month-end. Total currency options volume was 143,665 contracts, compared with 293,115 contracts a year ago. Average daily volume was 6,530 contracts and open interest was 173,653 contracts at month-end.
