Total currency futures volume at the Chicago Merchantile Exchange was 1,845,369 contracts during July, a decrease of 0.7 per cent on last year's figure of 1,860,030 contracts traded. Average daily volume was 87,875 contracts and open interest stood at 469,942 positions at month-end. Total currency options volume was 186,818 contracts, compared to 272,986 traded a year ago. Average daily volume was 8,896 contracts and open interest was 176,101 positions at month-end.
