Lloyds TSB snares BoE dove

Lloyds TSB has hired former Bank of England (BoE) Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) member DeAnne Julius as a non-executive director.

Julius, who joins Lloyds TSB on October 1, left the MPC in May. She had been there since the creation of the MPC in 1997, and was renowned as one of the leading doves on the rate-setting committee. Kate Barker, former chief economist at the Confederation for British Industry, replaced Julius at the BoE on June 1.
