Bankers Trust has found a new way to cut costs. William Schimoler, senior vice president of global markets/technology at Bankers says that the firm was able to trim its market data costs by 11 percent in London by installing a data distribution system based on DEC’s DECtrade system architecture. Schimoler is using the savings to justify implementation of a similar system in New York.

Schimoler says the London facility’s market expense dropped from $3.2 million in 1989 to about $2.7 million so far
