Experts Anticipate Euro Weakness Will Continue

HOUSTON--Economists and foreign exchange analysts are forecasting that the euro could slip below $1.05 in the next few weeks and may not recover for some time.

David Gilmore, a partner at FX Analytics in Essex, Connecticut, says the euro is unlikely to crawl back to its launch rate of $1.17 soon. He forecasts that the euro will sink "below $1.05 in the medium term", and suggests any upward move will result from US dollar weakness, rather than eurozone strength.
