Matif Plans Launch Of Currency Options In Franc, Mark To Compete With Phlx

In a bid to get a piece of the lucrative foreign exchange markets, the Marché à Terme International de France (Matif) has announced that it will launch two currency options contracts on May 20. The dollar/Deutsche mark and dollar/French franc options contracts will compete directly with similar offerings on the Philadelphia Stock Exchange and with options on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange's currency futures contracts.
