Goldman Sachs reports record third quarter

NEW YORK -- Goldman Sachs reported its highest-ever quarter for the fixed-income, currency and commodities (FICC) division for the third quarter ended August 31. With net revenues of $1.3 billion for FICC, the bank was up 19% on Q3, 2001.

That takes the group’s revenues for the year-to-date to $3.7 billion, up 16% compared with $3.2 billion in 2001.

In common with the other US investment houses, Goldman Sachs does not break out a figure for its FX trading revenues within the FICC division. But a
