Australian regional online FX portal to be launched by 2002

SYDNEY -- The first release of AusMarkets, a regional online multi-bank trading portal for the financial markets, should be available by January 2002.

The portal will initially offer money-market instruments, but other asset classes -- including fixed income and FX -- will be added to the platform at six-week intervals, AusMarkets’ chief executive officer Simon Narroway told FX Week.

AusMarkets is now approaching technology vendors for proposals on building the portal, and hopes to start
