Babcock Fulton Prebon Eyes Future; Seeks To Develop Proprietary Systems

Babcock Fulton Prebon Ltd., a recent amalgamation of three interdealer brokerage operations, plans to strengthen its internal information handling abilities as a way of coping with the competition from the automated trading systems provided by Reuters, Telerate and Quotron.

Adrian Miles, president of Fulton Prebon's Canadian service, raised the idea of brokers' cooperating to provide screen-based information at the Association Cambiste Internationale's annual congress in Copenhagen last May
