Citibank London has hired Neil MacKinnon away from Yamaichi International (Europe) to be its chief treasury economist and currency strategist, filling the hole left by Paul Chertkow, who defected to Union Bank of Switzerland in May (Fx Week May 29), according to Citi treasurer Julian Simmonds. MacKinnon was Yamaichi's chief economist in charge of investment strategy.
