CME outage draws caution

CHICAGO - An outage on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange Globex platform on Friday, May 8 drew caution from forwards traders.

The technical disruption took place between 11:37am to 12:30pm EDT, halting trading in forex futures and options over the exchange's electronic trading platform. The exchange said in reports that open outcry trading continued, though most foreign exchange is traded electronically.
