NEW YORK - Institutional sales teams have been the major beneficiary of reduced hedge fund activity in 2009, according to recruitment consultants

"Banks have shifted their focus away from the hedge fund side to the benefit of institutional sales because of an increased interest in simple flow business, rather than the structured business being done last year," said Greg Armon-Jones, head of foreign exchange search at London-based search firm Armstrong International.
