Small US retail forex firms set to "suffer"

Online trading companies Gain Capital and FXCM are in buyout talks with smaller FX traders. Gain Capital acquired three small firms in the second half of last year.

The new legislation proposes to close a loophole that means FX solicitors, money managers and pool operators are exempt from registration or regulatory requirements. This includes the National Futures Association's (NFA) requirement that its forex dealer members (FDMs) maintain a minimum adjusted net capital of $5 million, a figure
