ANZ markets revenues up in H2

SYDNEY - ANZ is expecting a surge in global markets revenues for the full year 2009, assisted by strong institutional currency trading in the third quarter.

A spokesperson at ANZ in Melbourne said the bank benefited from its book positioning on the reversal of US dollar strength during the third quarter. This helped ANZ profit from the Australian and New Zealand dollars and Asian currencies trading on its institutional foreign exchange books.
