HSBC builds prime services

LONDON – HSBC has hired Jacqueline Liau for its foreign exchange prime services team in London, as part of the bank’s ambitions to become a key player in foreign exchange globally.

Liau started at the UK bank last week, joining from Deutsche Bank, where she was a director in the FX and rates prime-brokerage business in New York. She joined the German dealer in July 2006 from Goldman Sachs alongside colleague Hester Serafini, as part of efforts to build up a newly launched fixed-income prime
