Crunch time for the US dollar, says Barclays Capital

Concerns over the weakness of the US dollar might have been overshadowed by the resurgence of the eurozone crisis but look set to return to the fore during the third quarter, according to Barclays Capital's quarterly global outlook, published yesterday.

The UK bank cited a number of key issues that will determine the dollar's performance over the coming months, including the end of the second round of quantitative easing, uncertainty over whether the US government's debt ceiling will be raised
