Barclays staff cuts claim FX roles

Staff cuts at Barclays have hit the bank's foreign exchange division, with at least eight individuals known to have been made redundant earlier this week, following a recent internal announcement.

The departures are mainly focused in FX sales, but Phil Roberts, director and chief European technical strategist, has also left the bank. Roberts joined Barclays in 1997 and worked in various capacities, including as a proprietary trader, up until 2001. After that, he focused on technical analysis
