CFTC carries out 69 enforcement actions in fiscal 2015 – $3.14bn in fines

Timothy Massad, head of the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), says he remains steadfast in ensuring the agency carries out aggressive enforcement action, signalling any wrongdoers in the financial industry are not out of the woods just yet.

Violations by some of the world's biggest banks accused of manipulating benchmark rates helped the CFTC to a record $3.14 billion in civil monetary penalty orders from 69 enforcement actions in fiscal 2015.
