Exit after Brexit: Lord Hill leaves the EU Commission after two years

Jonathan Hill, the UK's European commissioner and most senior diplomat in Brussels, has resigned after Britain's vote to leave the European Union. He exits his post on July 15.

Lord Hill, a close ally of UK prime minister David Cameron, was named commissioner in September 2014 by European Commission president Jean-Claude Juncker.
