US president Donald Trump has accused China and Russia of devaluing their currencies as the Federal Reserve raises interest rates, contradicting the findings of a recently released semi-annual report by the US Department of the Treasury.

“Russia and China are playing the currency devaluation game as the US keeps raising interest rates. Not acceptable!” Trump tweeted on April 16, but he did not offer any data to substantiate the claim.
