Barclays Combines Treasury, Capital Markets Latest In Flood Of Similar Unions In London

Following a growing trend among banks in the London market, Barclays Bank has decided to combine its treasury trading and capital markets activities under one organizational roof. The bank has announced plans to open a new Markets and Investment Banking division that incorporates its Barclays de Zoete Wedd merchant bank as well as a large part of the former group treasury. Sir Peter Middleton, currently at the British treasury, will join the bank later this year to lead the new group. John
