Deutsche Bank in London has hired Chris May from Republic National Bank in London to head spot foreign exchange, according to a number of market sources. May, who was a proprietary trader at RepNat, had previously been spot chief at Union Bank of Switzerland in London, and before that, was at Citibank for many years. According to market sources, May, who starts this week, reports to global foreign exchange director Michael deSa. Deutsche officials had not officially confirmed the appointment by
