Doug Bate, formerly head of foreign exchange at Barclays de Zoete Wedd in Tokyo, is joining The Long-Term Credit Bank of Japan in London as a proprietary dealer on December 7, officials say. Bate will apparently have some supervisory responsibility for traders in the bank's London dealing room but officials decline to detail his exact title.
