Bear Stearns is globalizing its currency options under its newly appointed head of the London operation, managing director Bernd Broker, formerly of Union Bank of Switzerland (FXW, May 13).

The investment bank is also building its European profile, as well as boosting its emerging markets and proprietary trading capability in New York, says senior managing director David Schoenthal.
