James Beqaj, executive vice president of CIBC and president of subsidiary Wood Gundy Inc. has left the company, officials confirm. Wayne Fox, who has been with the bank for 23 years, was appointed as his replacement.

Merita Bank has relocated John Birch, formerly a senior trader on the spot Scandinavian desk in London, to New York to beef up its spot Scandi trading in the US, says Mick Phillis, head of London treasury. Birch will report to Colin Williams-Hawkes, treasurer in New York. Lee
