Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi has hired Dr Paul Chertkow to a new position as head of global currency research based in London. Chertkow will join the bank in May reporting to Norio Kuroiwa, European treasurer. He will be responsible for building a London-based global currency research team of four or five staff members, says a bank official. Chertkow was previously head of global currency strategy at Union Bank of Switzerland in London. He formerly reported to Hans-Peter Bauer, global head of fixed
