Bernie Sinniah, Citi’s global head of e-FX solutions, is to retire during the first quarter of this year, after 38 years at the bank, with Sam Hewson set to take his place, according to an internal memo seen by FX Week.

Sinniah joined the bank in 1980 as a spot trader in Colombo, before moving to Australia in 1986 and later joining the FX sales team. After becoming head of sales for Australia, he relocated to the UK in 1999 to run the UK corporate desk and later the Europe desk.
