Former HSBC trader Stuart Scott has won the right to stay in the UK and avoid extradition to the US to face charges of allegedly manipulating currency prices, after the UK Supreme Court denied an appeal request submitted by the US.

Richard Donoghue, the US attorney for the Eastern District of New York, has written to district judge Nicholas Garaufis, who presides over the case against Scott and his co-defendant, Mark Johnson, to say all avenues available to the US have been exhausted.
