A key witness in the criminal case against former JP Morgan currency trader Akshay Aiyer has admitted to lying to US Department of Justice (DoJ) investigators, saying he has lost track of the number of crimes he has committed since initially meeting with the agency in 2014.
Under cross-examination on November 4, Christopher Cummins, a former currency trader at Citi, said that even though he knew he would be committing a fresh crime, he lied to prosecutors because he thought it would help him
