Jason Katz’s credibility and ability to trade EM currencies are being examined

Months after joining BNP Paribas as a director on its emerging markets foreign exchange desk, Jason Katz was struggling to trade Central and Eastern European, Middle Eastern and African (Ceemea) currencies, which prompted his supervisor to urge him in a performance review to brush up on his skills.

Katz is testifying on behalf of the US in its criminal case against Akshay Aiyer, a JP Morgan trader accused of being part of a multi-year conspiracy with him and others to rig prices in Ceemea
