CSFB And Deutsche Bank Close Gap On Citibank in FX Rankings

Citibank retains its title as the highest-earning bank in foreign exchange for 1999--with CSFB and Deutsche Bank rapidly gaining ground, according to FX Week’s 10th annual ranking of banks’ forex revenues.

The results show there could be trouble ahead for Citi, which has enjoyed a six-year reign at the top of the ranking. While the bank has seen its revenues from foreign exchange drop 9 per cent year-on-year to $1,478 million from a $1,627 million high in 1998, European rivals CSFB and Deutsche
