Yen and Swissie weakness will continue, says UniCredit

UniCredit has topped this week’s one-month currency forecast rankings with a prediction the yen and Swiss franc would weaken against the US dollar, thanks to a steeper US yield curve and the stiff resolve of the Swiss and Japanese central banks to maintain currency weakness.

On June 21, when USD/JPY and USD/CHF were trading at 97.45 and 0.9272 respectively, UniCredit forecast a moderate weakening in both the yen and Swiss franc in one month’s time, at 100 and 0.94 respectively. Its prediction
