No surprises expected from ECB

FRANKFURT -- Analysts are not expecting the European Central Bank (ECB) to cut interest rate cuts at this Thursday’s meeting, despite being caught off-guard by last month’s 25 basis-point cut.

"No one expects cuts because the ECB just cut interest rates," Manuela Preuschl, global markets strategist at Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt, told FX Week. "The fundamental economic environment means there is no need to make further rate cuts. The economy is still weakening but it is not an alarming
