ABN Amro Reports 3.7 Per Cent Rise In 1993 Foreign Exchange Income

ABN Amro reported 1993 foreign exchange dealing income last week of Fl672 million, up 3.7 per cent over the 1992 gain of Fl648 million.

Surprisingly, the Fl358 million the bank earned during the second half of 1993 topped by 2.8 per cent the Fl348 million it gained in FX during the second half of 1992. For most players, the 1992 second half was an exceptional period, while the second half of last year was comparatively slow.

The bank's news release made relatively little mention of foreign
